Making My Way Back
Taking some time off has really helped me to assess what the heck I want in life. It's also confused the bejeezus out of me, but I know now that if I give myself just a little bit more time things will be clear. And so that's where I am now. Do you sometimes forget you have a choice? We're told we have to suffer through so much in life in order to achieve anything, including happiness and peace- but you know what? Struggles and confusion give us the contrast to know what we ultimately truly want; and that is so powerful, don't you think? But what maybe we're not all aware of is the fact that we won't align with that happiness and peace if we stay stuck, immobilized, unchanged. So the choice comes down to this: Stay where you don't want to be or take that itty bitty courageous step toward where you do want to be. There's no blaming anyone else for where you are. It's all you. Step slowly or leap, but just mobilize yourself. A year from now, you'll be glad you did.
Happy Monday, friends...
p.s. here's what I was up to over the past week, if you'd like to have a peek...

For Your Monday
I spent all last night forgetting what day today is. For the life of me, I kept switching from Thursday to Saturday, to...yes, finally... Monday. I take this as a sign to quit spreading my life into so many areas. It's been hard to keep track of where I'm going next... which makes for never a dull day or night but also begs me to focus in on, maybe even, just three things total both socially and professionally. But since so much of my life revolves around the inter-play of one with the other, it's been a tricky feat. And much like all else in my life these days, I'm learning.
So this is just a reminder that I'll manage and I've got things covered; and so do you. Because, seriously, compared to what so many people around the world have to cope with on a day-to-day basis... my stuff is nothing. Trivial. Silly.
Onward...

For Your Monday
I feel like this is true; most especially when I feel like dancing. I used to care but now I don't. I may look silly but it's liberating and, yes, powerful. That Amy Poehler is always right on.

For Your Monday
This is the little hug of encouragement I need and, if you need it too, here ya go... take it slow, be bold, hold off a tiny bit, let yourself be compelled... wherever you are, just take a step. Because eventually that baby step turns into your natural stride. Go ahead. I've got your back.
My apologies for skipping the weekend wrap up; I just couldn't manage to get my thoughts together to post. This Mother's Day hit me hard. I'm missing my mother more than ever as I grow fuller into my life. I'm missing the memories I never got the chance to share with her. But I hold the handful of memories I do have so wide and true. Losing her when I was so young sure did allow me the insight of the beauty of the life we have and the sensitivity to love and appreciate that very distinct feeling of being alive. So of the many gifts she shared while she was here, this is one she gave me in her death. I am so overwhelmingly thankful for having known her.
Enjoy a beautiful week ahead, friends.
Love,
Cath

Damn, is this ever true. It takes a bit of extra courage, but I think it'll be worth it. Do you?

I don't know whose quote this is (I can only see "Victor" at the bottom. Victor Hugo? Doubtful.) but I like it very much and hope it to be true. I think it is. Do you agree?

Into the Weekend
This weekend I'm partying. And these are my party shoes (plus a bow for my hair)...
Let's do this.
For you, some fun links gathered from around the web:
This puppy + this fox.
I want to take a train ride.
A striking image of Georgia O'Keeffe.
A concept worth sharing (again. I love it.)
Have a really fun weekend, friends.
Love,
Cath
