Into the Weekend

Half the weekend is already done and passed, but I'm holding to the memories of the tiny moments that lifted me; a sunshiny Friday afternoon on Main Street in Ventura, a surprise phone call from a friend who I haven't caught up with in forever, a leisurely stroll with Mars the Dog, opening a book that a friend passed along to me and having my eyes go straight to a sentence that altered the course of my day; coffee, babies, a light filled home, flowers, a vintage embroidered apron and an apron with strawberries that I scored at a yard sale (they're adorable).  Also, I'm ready to plan another party; along with designing the goods for my shop, it's my greatest creative passion these days.  Also also, I'm super excited to begin working with the company that will help to bring my branding + shop to the next level.  Aiming for a mid-Summer launch; my head is spinning dizzy over the anticipation.  I'll keep y'all posted.

Into the weekend...

Just got back from a visit with a friend in Ventura.  That drive is always beautiful... ocean on one side, mountains on the other.  But today I drove home feeling especially thankful for inspiring stories and riding through the sunshine of a perfect summer day.  

This weekend I'll be on the hunt for some lace + last minute (ish) notions for one or two designs before next week's photoshoot.  I'll also be hanging with my sister-in-law during her swoop through town and then partaking in the very unglamorous act of cleaning house.  

At least I have a nice choice of aprons to wear to gussy things up a bit.

Into the weekend...

This weekend I'll be taking out the camera to get some practice shots in for the collection shoot on the 18th.  I've got pretty much all the designs constructed and ready to go, and the model + stylists on board... it's all about last minute details now.  So, lots of that going on.  

Then I'll be catching up with an old friend + writing a very very long overdue letter to another friend back in New England.  These things take my full attention, no rushing of such matters.  

It'll be a full afternoon spent while sipping a yummy tea or warm vanilla soy milk with honey (Have you tried this?  Oh my goodness, delicious.)

Into the weekend...

This weekend I'll be really trying to take it easy... 

lots of tea + lots of sewing hair adornments for an upcoming photoshoot.  

I'll also be visiting with my sister-in-law, Kasey, while she's in town getting started on a new tattoo and spending some time with a new friend, Rebecca, over a tasty lunch and feeling thankful for the good people in my life.

Into the weekend...

I'm a little late in getting this weekend post up.  Running around fueled by sugar + a touch of caffeine.  I just got back from our 3 year old niece's (love her) birthday party up north (and what a beautiful drive along the ocean it was.)  + am now about to jump back into work, including applying for grants for my shop.  There's one, in particular, that would be a dream come true to achieve and I am hoping that you'd be keen on taking just a quick moment to write in your vote for my company (I'd be forever thankful.).  In the link below, all you have to do is scroll to the bottom right of the page, click where it says to log in with Facebook, and then fill in the following:

Into the weekend...

This past week has been a super busy one.  The amount of orders I've received for the latest collection has been mind blowing.  I am always so thankful for your continued love + support with my business and am really really glad that you are enjoying your pieces (I love your love-fest emails!).  It's been five solid years of full time work with my company and to see it expand as it has makes me feel such huge appreciation.
So, thanks a bunch.

This weekend I'm going to try to lay low (lots of activity + events in the coming weekends), maybe write a long overdue catch up letter for an old friend + put together a little gift for my dad for Father's Day + wander around letting adventure in.

Into the weekend...

This weekend, I'll be launching some pretty lively jewelry in my shop (keep an eye out for them on Saturday!) and now, because I have a little pause in my day's schedule, I just might go out and find some adventure before I jump back into work this evening.  It's sunshiny and warm over here... maybe a mini-road trip along the sparkling coast + a nice solo lunch is in order.

Into the weekend*

What are you up to this weekend?  (I'd love to hear on our facebook or twitter page... the comments section below seems to still have basic functioning issues [insert sad face here] ). 

I'll be doing one of my very favorite things ever by putting all the materials in front of me and recreating my Spring/Summer 2012 designs for an upcoming photoshoot.  My studio space will be a mess, but a happy pretty mess.

Then I'm off to visit with a friend who is recovering from an intense, but very hopeful surgery. 

So this weekend, I will also be counting my blessings...
