It was a big week, you guys, and am I ready for a nap. This rainy day isn't helping to keep me awake either, but hey, if I still get to surround myself with the creativity of my work I. will. not. complain. That would be tacky. So, here's what I loved about my week...
Behind the scenes at the collection photoshoot (all bts photos taken by the fantastic Cody Kiniry):
Model, Erika Leachman, gets primped by me and Myriah Bujak (hair stylist + photography assistant).
I wanted a make-up-less look for the models, so I didn't hire a make-up artist this time around.
But Myriah was ready with this brush to keep the inevitable shine in check + she added just a hint of blush for impact.
This picture cracks me up. Model, Erin Kiniry-Ensor, and I busted some unexpected pilates/jazz-hands type moves. I have no idea why we did but, then again, we're an odd bunch (though lovable, if I may say so). Myriah and Erika took a break from styling to join in.
I'm kind of a freak for organizing projects, so this photoshoot was no different. Cody caught this shot of me running through my list pairing hair style with model with product with wardrobe. My brain may have been mush without it.
The sweetest picture of Erika. And that dress! (Generously on loan from Poppyfrock Vintage)
Myriah and Erin prepping for these hair flowers. Note the tourists in the background (and in the next photo below). They all thought Erin and Erika were celebrities and even asked to have their pictures taken with them. How very very awesome.
Me taking a picture of Cody taking a picture of me being dooped by Erika. I'll forgive her.
That would be me, getting everything set with the camera before we officially began.
I can be easily distracted.
Myriah assists me and Erin. This turned into one of my favorite images from the collection.
And then the entire crew (that's Cody on the far right)... it's a wrap!
(photo taken by a random reveler with my Fuji instant camera + these great collectable goggles supplied by Erin and Cody's mom... Thanks, Rebecca!)
One more thing...
Our friend, Derek (we call him Reggie), is in town from Copenhagen where he's living and tattooing. He is pretty good at making me laugh, so it's been a nice visit and I'll be sad to see him leave tomorrow.
Leg kick + high five, Reg!
(here he is headed off to the shop with Sebastian)
And a few links collected from around the web, if you'd like to have a peek:
I was interviewed by Amy for her charming blog. She's also offering up a giveaway of one of my silk scarves... Thank you, Amy!
Erin is in a TV pilot! Stop over to have a watch here.
This documentary looks like a good one: Brooklyn Castle.
And this song gives me the butterflies.
Enjoy a beautiful weekend, friends.
Love,
Cath
