We are made of stars.

I am really truly in love with these images.  The kind of love wherein your heart + your belly flip and your whole world is peaceful and just right... that's what these pictures are doing for me.  They're that wonderful.
This weekend I'll be prepping for part two of the Spring/Summer collection + its photoshoot this week.  I'll also be visiting with a brother stopping through town, date night with Sebastian, and then maybe some catch up time with a bestie later in the weekend.
Enjoy a lovely one, friends.
Cath

A week begun + A giveaway.

My mind has been splattered with color lately.  I mean, lots and lots of color.  It's been awesome and so inspiring.  I keep a couple journals running at the same time... one for jotting down ideas + clippings + mindful thoughts; the other is for sketches, little paintings, and more detailed design ideas.  So this whole rampage of appreciation for color has been awesome for my creative processing.  This led me to my current giveaway idea which you can find + enter to win on the shop's facebook page HERE.
Meantime, I'll be over at Pinterest freaking out over the amount of beauty that exists in the world.

Into the weekend...

This weekend I'll be...
+ enjoying a great big fun dinner out with friends
+ getting ready for a family visit next week
+ planning a neat giveaway on the shop's new facebook page (join in HERE so you're ready to enter by Monday)
+ and excitedly prepping for another photoshoot for another (mini) collection set to launch April 6th.  I'm kind of in love with this one.  It's got the grace of new beginnings written all over the designs.  Sweet sweet.
Enjoy a creative and bright weekend, friends.
Love,
Cath

p.s. I love the photo above.  It reminds me of my Papa who also plays the accordion.  I think this is the new hip instrument because I was out and about and saw an adorable young guy playing one (really well).  I was left smiling about it for hours...

Ah, yes.

That is how I feel when I listen to this song...

Pantone!

I'm a big fan of Pantone colors (who wouldn't be?) and I just love seeing the new ones out for each season.  Then I came across this clever idea... matching Pantone colors with desserts.  Awesome.

Some things I learned this week...

Is anyone else experiencing a crazy amount of shifting and transitioning?  I have no idea if these words are accurate for what's been all loony and surreal over the past few weeks, but there's no escaping it so I think the best way to move along is to share what I've learned so far.
1. Stop apologizing.
2. Nap more.
3. For a happy business and an even happier person, spend less time on the computer and more time designing and creating with the hands.
4. Old equation: 90% of my time goes to others' needs; 10% to my own.  New equation (which takes practice): 90% of my experience is for care of my immediate life; 10% is for all else.
5. Acupuncture is awesome.
6. A sweet touch makes my heart flip (this isn't a new insight, but deserves to be shared.)

I hope your weekend has the gentlest amount of life altering goodness.
Love,
Cath

These colors.

Or... Why I am so enthralled with everything cotton candy:
I have friends who just can't stand it and who can't understand it.  Me... I like how it's airy and how it does this whole magical disappearing act in my mouth.  It's there with all of its light textured awesomeness and then it melts into my tongue.  Also it comes in trippy colors.  Also it's all sugar.  Which means this girl right here is crazy blissed out for a perfectly beautiful moment in time.
Cotton candy is pure magic.

Into the weekend...

For the first time in forever, my mind is free of plans for the weekend.  It's a bizarre feeling, but I'd like to think I can get used to this. Who knows what sorts of things will show themselves.
In the meantime, this song... (p.s. close your eyes toward the end so you can enjoy the last bits of the song without seeing the ad.)
Have a dreamy weekend, friends.
Love,
Cath

Color

I've been working out the colors for the next few collections and got instant revelations from these images.  Aren't they all so darn charming?

Most of these come from my Pinterest boards, which you can follow HERE.

A Dreamy Wander...

This weekend I'll be taking a mini-road trip.  It'll be just me, the ocean on one side, the mountains on the other, my journals and maybe a walkabout through new places.  Or I'll just end up perusing through a used book store for longer than is socially acceptable.
Enjoy a few days filled with neat surprises.
Love,
Cath

Sometimes...

... life can feel a bit like this.  Which is, I think, perfect.  And sometimes what starts off as perceptibly mundane and ordinary or even uninspiring can lead into something extraordinary.  I'm pretty sure this is where I now stand... personally or otherwise... on the cusp of something glowing.  And, if not, it- at least- feels good in this singular moment after an incredibly engaging journey.
